Nice thought,Dom...But I am thinking about getting rid of the 512 and having Jim do a plain ol 440 and racing footbrake.(NHRA Sportsman)

Spend the winter down south with your car. Save on winterizing it. Watch all the snow fall on the weather channel.

lets see Ted....get it off the floor..cardboard or plywood under it...charcoal in pans under the car...heater with a timer, just to keep the chill out and costs down...blanket over the engine and dont forget the antifreeze mix...maybe pull the rims or just cover them..any aluminum parts you can spray down with WD40...

why dont you like the 512?

Put fresh clean oil and filter on it.
Put anti-freeze in it.
Then run the engine to circulate both.
Cap the exhaust to keep moisture out, same for vents, breathers, carb.
I like to remove the rocker arms to let all the valve springs extend.

Get the slicks off of concrete, and preferably off the ground.

I kept mine in my enclosed trailer for 10 years. Just jacked it up, pulled the rockers, and disconnected the batteries. Last year, and from now on I'll keep it in my garage. Never had a problem in the trailer, but now I can work on it some in the winter/spring.

Lots of good tips here...I thank you all!! Woody..I am happy with the 512..Jimmy did a helluva job on it..He is a master!! The only reason I would pull it in exchange of a smaller moder is all of the Bullchit involved in running Pro ET...I don't like the rules and a lot of the others agree..Nuff said...And yes...It is getting chilly already!!

My year round storage is drain the water, pull the rockers and jack it up. Been sitting that way for well over a year.
