yet another problem with my 4year headache, i took the 68 coronet out for a spin this weekend, as i backed out of my drive way and started down the road, the steering wheel had a bobble from left to right, it seem to go away the faster i got, however under 30miles hour the bobble was bad,
i put my hands on the top of the tire in the center and put pressure in and out, i felt the tire give in and out a little, i put my hands in the center of the tire and tried to move and could not, when i put pressure on the top of the tire, something is giving a little.

the front end was rebuilt about 6 or 7 years ago, however, the car has not been driven very many miles, so i do not believe it is the front end, it feels like a wheel bearing loose.
i have replaced inner and outer bearings and repacked the bearings about 250miles ago, i have been working on the car for 4years and have not driven it till recent.

what is the best way to figure out what is wrong? i was going to start by tighting up the spindle nut, is the best way is to snug the nut and then back off about a 1/4turn?

Take the dust cover off and see if the nut is tight. If it is I bet you have the wrong bearings in there.

how will i know if i have the wrong bearings are not? i do not have the receipt or the old boxes? when i replaced the bearings i went to O'Reily's and told them what i had, they looked to be the right bearings when i replaced them.
i replaced everything , bearings, brakes, drums , i even had to replace the hubs, due to the old ones had some stripped out lugs, however, i did put used hubs on.
i have not had any troubles till now, however, i have not driven the car over about 40 or 50miles at a time, i have only been on the road with the car for couple of mths, only drive on weekends, just out for a sunny day cruise.

Don't be afraid to touch your car, take it apart and see where the wobble is coming from. It's not that hard, It's not like you have to open the trans to check the wheel bearings.

Well before you tear into the front end , jack it up spin each tire, look at it from the front as it spins. Is it running true or is there a wobble in the tread? Sounds like one of your tires are bad.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

UPDATE***********bad drivers side tire** separated from the inside , could not tell till i jacked the car up and did a detailed visual of both tires, the front bearings seem fine, looks like new tires
