Tom.
Some time this Winter you'll have to enroll your ride in Jack-o-Lees health Spa for some trimming.

Tom , You are the man !
Are those the leaf springs clacking every time you shift .. Sounds kinda wild .

Drove me nuts that I wasnt there , had to stay home and take care of business.. , in one way Im glad because I didnt have to get humiliated every time I raced you ,
But on the other hand , My junks getting more bugs worked out , Never saw your car cook like it does in the video .. Look forward to the next race.

Andy, I have to think it is the combination of the shift linkage and the leaf springs. I know you can hear the trans shift,I've caught it in video before.

AND Andy, You do know the next race is right around the corner at Cecil Co. Sept 23-4. How many races do you plan on missing?

As many as it takes until things are smooth.. Its tuff to go out of town right now .

But ,the cars been in the trailer locked and loaded ready to go for two weeks . Its either goin to Cecil or the next local 1/4 mile local TT, Cant plan ahead , just spur of the moment .

To answer the original posters question FAST is cool , and fun and people in the class are progressing and getting consistent .. Would be great to see a bunch more trailer queens OR every day drivers with stock tires - beating on their cars like they're supposed to be. They dont know the fun theyre missing .. You dont have to be 700 horse
to have fun .. Theres just as much adrenaline whether youre 14 second or 10 . ( well maybe alittle bit more when youre racing against a GM )
Theres nothing better in all the classes than to see a stock appearing car getting the snot beat out of it at the track , Its like 1970 all over again .. Throw away the chrome valve covers and put the stock ones back on and have fun .

I've driven enough autos to know how uneventful they are. Maybe one day I'll put one in to relax

Or maybe go F.A.S.T every pass. Only kidding Big Shooter it's still raining hear Iam a little depressed.

Is something like a Mr. Norms Demon legal? Just wondering if you could use something like the boosted small block in factory Norms look.

No "dealer cars" allowed, only the way the cars were delivered from the factory.

OK ok, Let me word it differently.

Driving a F.A.S.T car that is automatic is far less challenging than driving a stick shift one.

I can't argue with that one. Been there, done that, then gave up and swapped in the auto.

Congrats Tom on a great driving job in that bad smallblock car. I drove a few cars on street tires at the track back in the 70's and early 80's and I can say it was much easier launching the auto car on street tires then the stick car. You really had to learn how to launch the stick car let alone know how to shift very fast. It was tricky knowing how much to work the clutch and gas to get it out without to much tire spin. Nice job Tom. Ron

Tommy,

You already have the FASTEST small with a four speed. Now you need to go for the whole deal.I love to see you getting after it again.
I wish you the best!

Brian you are O so close! I hope the weather at Cecil is in our favor. Good Luck!

Chris I don't think these guys would be chasing a 11.44 if you had keep that car just a little bit longer.

Ed, you are right but unfortunately I'll never know.

One day I'll make my way up to a palooza and will see whats new. Its hard to get up there without having my own junk to drag up. But soon, I'm going thru withdrawl.
