I wasnt there but a good friend saw it. He said it hit so hard it wrecked the concrete barrier and they closed the track for the day until they got the barrier replaced. That really sucks! What happened.

So he found out racing rheumatism sucks So did his 35 year old seatbelts fail or had he updated? Inquiring minds want to know.

Not sure on the causes yet, He is 62 and is pretty sore, shook him up a bit and frightened the hell out of his wife and grandkids who were also there. He hasn't raced in a long time but used to run a B/MP car nationally in the 70's after returning from vietnam. Compared to the first message i received from his wife, very dramatic, the second one from him, played down the accident. He is a very hardy guy anyway. Car has ran 12.81 at 110. Mick

I hope he's OK...the Vette looks like it's a total write off.
Folks throw numbers and ET's around on this board like they are meaningless, it is easy to forget just how quick and fast one is really talking about. A twelve second car is plenty fast enough to get someone hurt real bad.

We visited them in 91 and he had the car then but no interest in racing at that time. He's now retired, pulled the car out and stepped the motor up a little, i hope he doesn't go back into retirement again. Mick

Bummer... glad he wasnt hurt bad... being a 12 second car he probably didnt have any roll bar or anything and that makes it worse

I'm hoping he'll tell me when he finds out, his wife tells me he was apologising to people because they closed the track after the accident, she would like him to stop racing. I know he's not a mopar racer but thanks for showing your concern. Mick
