Just installed a 98 1500 truck starter on mine. It needed a new starter anyway and I was tired of wrestling my heavy stock unit. I had to enlarge the hole in the stock solenoid wire just a tad with a file but everything else went on like stock

Send it back to them,,,,let them check it over REAL good...then,, MAYBE,, they can duplicate it and someone else can have a good one too.

I run a stock mopar starter AND A 16 VOLT BATTERY SYSTEM on my 500-plus all alum b-1 motor with 17-1 compression--- i had problems with the 12 volt system for 2 years--went thru 3 big batteries---thinking it was the starter--and all this time it was the 12 volt battery--not beeing enough i went to jegs--got the kinetic 16 volt battery and X-POWER charger LOVE IT---wish someone would have told me this 2 years ago
