I've been on drag week a couple of times... you will need a helmet even in the DD class... other than that they check all your normal stuff on the car the first time... lights, turn signals and all that stuff so its street legal ..... helmet is all you need

Radiator overflow canister of some sort. A small cola bottle with a hole drilled in the cap works great. Make sure you don't run antireeze at the track!

How about a battery hold down, seat belts, and 2 throttle return springs? What wheels do you run on there, do you need long wheel studs? The tech guys can be sticklers if they want. Also a good idea is a torque strap on the engine so you don't break the motor mount with that 4 speed. Question, at what ET with a 4 speed are you required an aftermarket bellhousing? Another one to check on before going.
Dont need any of that in a 14 second car

That's what petcocks and drain pans are for - to drain and save the antifreeze to be used on the street - not on the track.
Never seem anyone drain before each day...and no one ever said anything about anti freeze... hell, how many cars go down any track with it.... tons... yeah it would be nice if they didnt... but thats life

More and more tracks have and enforce no antifreeze rules. They usually don't enforce it on the newer, daily driver stuff, but the last several times at Milan they've checked my car. And any track that doesn't do a good tech, I don't want to race at, anyways - it's not worth having some clown too lazy to have the proper equipment slam into my car because his car didn't have the proper equipment.
Granted, the "spectacle" Pinks may not be the best indicator of race knowledge, but I agreed with Rich on the show where he started DQ'ing cars for A/F after several cars pizzing up the track. It's both a safety issue for the car and a time issue for cleanup thats easily avoided.
Free advice and worth every penny... Factory trained Slinky rewinder.........

They jumped on my "driver" 'Cuda about the battery hold down studs not being large enough.
