Starter Relay Questions

There is a reason Ive saved the electrical for last on my car. Im generally a knuckle dragging mechanic and Im working to change this. I Bolted on the starter relay today. Who ever took this car apart left everything bolted to the old unit. My plan is to transfer the wires from old to new. So far It was an easy transfer and I now have a new positive cable bolted up to it. Does this look right? Im going to my wiring diagram in the manual tonight to confirm some other hook up?

In your photo it appears the original wire going from the relay down to the starter is still in place but a new battery cable is attached to the main stud of the relay... Assuming you bought a OE style reproduction cable the wire from the relay to the solenoid is serviced with the new cable, it is the wire taped to the battery cable heading down to the starter... After taking another look at your photo, the tan/brown wire seen laying on the battery tray is the trigger lead from the starter relay to the starter..

Funny you mentioned that. Yesterday I saw the shield was loose at first with the new relay so i took the base nut off of the old one and I'm using it on this new one. The old nut appears to be slightly wider and has a slightly thinner profile

Here is the new and improved picture. Ran the headlight harness and the main engine harness. I believe this now matches the wiring diagram. I appreciate all the pictures and assistance. Im sure I will need more help in the next few days coming.
