I am running a set of double springs comp 944 1.57 dia would like to upgrade to the 946 or 947 that measure 1.640. I was told they wouldn't fit with the t&d rockers these are on indy -1 heads. If this is ture what other options are there for a smaller dia triple spring or a stronger double

I AM RUNNING A 1.65 SPRING. I CALLED T AND D, THEY TOLD ME TO "CLEARANCE" OR GRIND THE ROCKER IN THE AREA OF THE RETAINER. doES NOT TAKE MUCH AND YOU ONLY NEED ABOUT .035 (THICKNESS OF A PAPER CLIP)
aFTER GRINDING I POLISHED THEM WITH FINER GRADES OF SANDPAPER TO GET RID OF ANY DEEP SCRATCHES THAT COULD START A CRACK OR WEAK SPOT. AFTER RUNNING THEM LIKE THAT YOU MAY SEE SOME "WITNESS" MARKS FORM THE RETAINER SLIGHT CONTACT, JUST CLEARANCE A LIL MORE IN THOSE SPOTS. OBVIOUSLY MAKE SURE YOU WASH THE ROCKERS GOOD BEFORE REINSTALLING THEM,

Lash caps will let them clear.

Are your T&D the single shaft system or the two rockers per shaft system?(8 pairs) Either way I would try them first before touchig them, call T&D and ask them, maybe, also T&D # 775-884-2292

I have a set of T&Ds on 572 with INDY 440-1s and 1.55 springs and i had to put lash caps on to clear and they are shaft mount but with 1.64 they (WILL NOT WORK) if they do you will have to do a lot of cutting on the rockers. GOOD LUCK.

Thanks for the input have a buddy that has some old springs might wait till winter and do some test fitting before buying
