What's the best out there right now? I have heard good things about a particular brand, but I'm looking for "un-prompted" responses

So, what brand do you like?

Like any product, there is never a generic " best" answer, but there IS a " best" for each certain application. I sell and install both Mr Gasket Ultra Seals, and Remflex. I really like the Ultra Seal on straight away everyday bracket motors and such, and definately the only choice for problematic situations are Remflex. They make some special gaskest as well for certion bead welded headers and so forth. So, it all depends...

For the magnum headed sm blk, Gibson #9245. Best fit, seal, price. Changed my mind and went with Mr Gaskets Ultra's.

Ok it depends, cool!!

It's a magnum small block. Eddy shorty headers. New build going together and I only want to do it once. I heard good things about the remflex stuff. But i think they're more expensive too. Might try the ultras first

Best "header gasket" is to have your header flanges and face of the head machined FLAT. I don't run any gaskets, just some high temp RTV.

There is little to no gap so there is nothing to "blow out".

i like Mr gasket ultra seals always worked good for me and many others, aslong as the flanges are straight enough, they seem to be able to handle a less than perfectly straight flange but there is limits to it

Remflex needs NO retorque never comes loose - and is by far the best gasket I've ever used.

They are pretty cheap on amazon from what I have read here.

I will never use anything other then remflex. No issues with leaking and I never have to retorque them.
