Just about to build this engine so i will list what i have done to it and hopefully someone can point me towards the right carb ...
340 4.070"- 3.58" crank stroked to 372ci
Decks zero'd , rotating assembly int.balanced.(scat steel crank)
eagle I beam rods, Malhe pistons
Edel. closed chamber heads, match ptd. bowls cleaned up and runners too. Not flow tested yet
10.5:1 comp
Hughes flat tappet solid htl3742as 237/242 @.050" 107 lsa .569"/.579" lift with hughes 1.6 ratio rockers.
edel. perf RPM airgap intake
1"3/4" hooker super comp headers
3000rpm stall
3.91 rear
Going into '70 Cuda if i've left anything out just ask.
I have a sixpack setup as well but think the 4bbl and air gap may flow better just looking at runners and comparing .
I want vac sec. sort of thinking holley hp 750 or BG 800 annular Mighty Demon.. ?? anything else to go for out there ?? without breaking the budget.
Don't plan to rev. past 6500 on a hard shift - its a streeter, no strip in my state so we use the road.. .

Aye mate. At 1st blush I'd agree w you on the basic 3310 750 vac but since you are in the market for a new purchase I'd prob step up & go w one of the Holley clones that has all the adjustable circuits so if (when) you get serious about dialing it in w an AF meter you will b able to get it completely spot on (not a holley guy so no recommendations but someone will)

yep but the 340 stroker combos like carbs I would bet it would use all of a 950

John, Your going to love that cam,I had the same one in my 360 before I stroked it.

Old combo,360,KB 107 flat tops, factory heads pocket ported by hughes,
37/42 solid cam,RPM intake,tti step headers w/ full exhaust,tko-600
5 speed,391 gear.

I have 2 carbs that I would switch back and forth with.Holley 750
vac.secondary and a 750 DP.I like the way it runs with the DP better.

Mike

Thanks so far guys. Walked into speed shop today ( pulled sicky ) they were pointing me towards the Quickfuel CG 750 mech. which looks impressive too. Looks like a dice up between the CQ and the BG being cheaper than others even though BG have copped some flak over poor production quality in the past.
I like the idle 'eze' screw they have buried down the centre of the throttle plate. Was worried about mech. but been assured that with 3000rpm stall and 3.91 gears it should work better than vac.
- Nice ride Mike ..!

By buddy has a 416 stroker in a 4 speed Demon. The engine is an OEM block, plus .030 with iron/ported W2 heads that flow right around 200cfm @ 6500rpm, a single plane Mopar Performance W2 intake, a stout but streetable roller cam and 9.5:1 flat top pistons, TTI exhaust. He runs a Holley 950 right out of the box jetting, it made 20 more HP on the dyno than his stock out of the box Holley 750 DP that he tried first. He drives it on the street a lot and has zero issues with it. I've driven the car, it's a rocket!

Ever since I've built my 416 in my Duster, I've run at minimum a 750 DP. On the strip I use my 950 Quick fuel. Car really loves the 950.
4.0 crank
eagle rods
9.75 compression
308 preped and ported heads
man. valve bodied 727
35-3800 Continental torque converter
Hooker super comp headers
fuel exhaust
3.91 gears

We have a good selection of fuel here. I use BP 98 octane out of the pump. 91 and 93 available too.
Exhaust i made myself, x-pipe up front dual 21/2" mild steel. I have chambered supercat mufflers but will change to some free flow magnaflows
Its an AAR so it has side exit exhaust. ( T/A motor shelved , spare '73 block being used )
