I have seen some 4" cowls for it but I dont think that is big enough. Mine now is between 3" and 4" as it tapers to the back and my carb vents are 1/2" from the bottom of my scoop. I have seen a few people with 5" 6 pack scoops that I really like but I can find any.

1/2" from the bottom ? ..NO problem. Now if you want a style-change that is your choice but that will be an expensive operation for probably very little gain.

I would just like a air cleaner. Some of the roads through the campground at the track our dirt and very dusty at times. I also live a quarter of a mile down a dirt road and it sucks having to wait until it rains to kill the dust befor I take it out for a ride.

Matt, I would go with a RO/WO scoop for your car, not the 6 pack.

Better yet, I would have your intake cut to fit a Dominator instead of the 2" adapter you run now. All the old INDY intakes were done this way. Same intake casting, just cut differently.

Jeff

Not sure what the ro/wo scoop is! Any idea who could cut the intake? Im sure it would cost me much on my E.T. do ya think?
Do you think it is possible to do the intake without any special tools? Or does it need to be litteraly cut down?
Have you had the GTX out again since the grove?

6-pack hoods look good on 68-69 b-bodys except chargers. My 1st choice for your car would be the 5" WO scoop 2nd would be a 5" Hemi (dart) scoop

Aside from crying every time I see your car.... do you like the quality of the VFN scoop?
Well made? Bolts down in a sturdy way?

ummm... worth what I paid for it. I had to grind the bottom to match the hood contours, but that left the bolt tabs below the bottom of the edges. I re-bent them with pliers and all was well. Second, I ran the scoop ONCE at the strip before realizing I required those 3 hold downs in the front. I glassed in some special perforated washer/nuts that I got from McMaster-Carr for about $2 each and added some all thread and stainless tubing. Now it's solid as a rock at nearly 130 mph. I couldn't justify the expense of a new glass hood when this was so easy, not to mention a glass hood would also need work to fit/hinge/bolt, etc.

Yes, I'd do it again.

How tall is this one? That looks like about the same height I have on it now.

I'll measure it when I get home. It is definitely the same style as yours, but as far as height goes, I think it is about 2 1/2 at the rear and 5" to the peak in the front.
