Ok I got the wiring straightened around on the 69 Dart. Now I want to ad this Electronic ignition stuff I have. I have the 5 pin ign. box,the harness, the 4 prong ballast and a new coil. I have seen the Diagrams online, but am not very good with wiring. Can someone help me out? Im not feeling very sure on how to wire up the ballast. Anyone else go from points to EI,and have some pictures or advise? Do I still use the stock ballast connectors? Stock coil + wire?

I do not think I added the red colored jumper in the diagram from the ballast to the + side of the coil. The wire that says "you supply this wire, color is not important" and the car runs. What gives?

What is that wire for?

power supply to the coil (completes the curcuit). it means, find a piece of wire in your garage and put it in there. do not use too small of a guage wire (14 i think)

Mike,
I am confused. There IS a wire on the positive side of my coil but it is part of the stock 1969 repro wire harness.

The diagram shows the added jumper from ballast to coil, but the "easy" version written below it makes no mention of a jumper.

Like I said the car runs. What to do?

"bump" for anyone that can clear up my question about the extra wire and if I need it or not. Thanks.

sorry i was at work. you are probably ok. that diagram most likely assumes you have a unmolested stock points wiring harness. a new repro might include it. if it's running, no worries .

Thanks, Mike. I was starting to 2nd guess myself. The hook up was so easy to do that I thought maybe I had missed something.

happy to help! quick suggestion, alot of guys put some washers behind the box it increase cooling with better airflow. if your box is flush against what ever to mounted it to, it's a good idea to do that but maintain your ground
