Just as it's labeled... I'm afraid I'm going to destroy the adj screw heads for the advance on my MP distibutor. Why on earth would these things be that tight? Are these things welded on???? Any tips/tricks to loosen without stripping the heads out?
Thanks in advance!!

I just did a buddies distributor before Carlisle and the two torx screws were incredibly tight. Just use a quality torx bit and they will come loose.

Hey thanks for the reply. The screws appear to require a t-15 even though it's a bit sloppy in the slot. The next size I have is a t-20 and that won't fit. From what I can gather there's not a size between those two is there???
If not, I'm fairly sure I'll round out the head on the screw....

Don't use a regular torx T-15 wrench. They are IP-15 torx plus screws. I stripped the screws in mine using a regular torx wrench. I bought the correct tool and it worked great http://www.amazon.com/Wiha-36466-T-Handl...8441&sr=1-1

Boy am I an idiot...I tore my dist apart and got set to twist em out and decided to try the t-20 one more time and with a little persuasion it fit!! Both screws were either very tight or had some edge to them that the driver had to be finessed to get the 20 in there. Once I got it in, they were a bear to get out, but came out without any damage. BTW that T-handle version looks like a much better way to do the job!
Thanks for the replies!!
