My heater and AC controls stopped working recently. These are the push button controls that run the heat, defrost, and AC. I pulled the control unit from the dash, and the back of the vacuum switch literally just fell off. Now that the problem is obvious, the solution is not. Is this switch hard to find? Any good sources?

Also, the vacuum controls seem almost identical in my 1990 dodge ram D250. Are these vacuum switches fairly universal?

Hey Bullitt, nice ride! I am extremely JEALOUS. Reminds me of my old 68 charger. I definitely shoulda kept that car. Then again, I'd probably be having the same issues as I'm having with the current 68 superbee..

Yes but we all havin' issues, right????? Thanks for the compliments on the Charger also.

Hey I have one of those switches that I bought years ago. Maybe close to 10 years now, if not more. I can't remember though where I got it but I remember paying a decent coin for it....even then. I'm gonna subcribe here and see what everybody comes up with......

Is this the controler you're looking for? I know I've seen them at one or two of the major auto parts chains and you can find them on ebag too

This photo is not in an old Mopar box, I mean look at the car they have an illustration off looks 90's front wheel drive to me

Yup, the one in the photo looks like it. I did take a look on Ebay, it seems failry universal 68-71. I would like to get one locally if possible, but if Ebay is the way, then that's hwo it's gotta be.

Or maybe my friend JB Weld can help me out

This is the one out of my '68 road runner and when I was searching for other parts of the A/C system I know that I ran across new vacuum switches at one or two of the major auto parts stores but just didn't need one. I was surprised how many components were still available from the auto parts store. One thing I did find was it sometimes depends on which Mopar model you ask about for a certain item. What I mean is I would ask for a part for a '68 road runner and the counter guy or even the search feature on their website would say "not available for this model" then I would ask "how about for a '69 Satelite with a 383 and they would say "yep it's available for that model" "Yes for a GTX but no for a Belvedere" or "yes for a 318 but not for a 440" so don't give up if their listing for your car says no.
