i dont know how much of a sleeper she'll be because when she is running she definetally sounds like a beast!!! she has a very healthly, lumpy idle.

11.5:1 compression? What gas do you need to feed that with? Any quench?
Videos!

so far its running great with pump 93. not a hint of detenation. the pistons are .002 in the hole with 64cc combustion chambers. using a felpro 1008 head gasket that is .039 thick. i was worried that i was gonna have to mix a little race gas in it but it seems to be working just fine. i just drove it 20 miles home from the muffler shop after having the dynomax ultra flo's installed and she cruised along at 65 mph with 60lbs of oil pressure and the temp settled in at 190 degrees.

rick, i havent checked it. i just went back and watched the video of your 408 and it is super nice. i love the dual carb setup, it is killer!!!!!! kinda wish i'd have went with an edelbrock carb, this holley has been a pain in the you know what!!! i'm having a little trouble getting her to idle. i cant get it to idle in park or neutral less than 1500 rpm, and as soon as i put it in gear and the rpms drop i have to keep my foot on the prddal or she will die!!!

I went with 2-500cfm AVS units and so far it idles nice at around 850rpm...but it's on the rich side....gots a little adjusting to do yet, but it's very responsive.....once it's in the car I will probably switch back to the progressive linkage.
What Holley are you running...?????

its a 850hp thats been worked by BLP (BO LAWS PERFORMANCE) i bought it used at a swap meet and it came with a flow sheet that says it flows 930 cfm. it was setup for circle track use so i rebuilt it and installed notched floats and jet extensions. im not that good tuning holley carbs and right now it has a 6.5 powervalve in the front and the rear powervalve is blocked off. jetting is 75 front and 79 rear. any suggestions?

The only suggestion I can offer in this situation is to get your hands on any basic carb known to be good and try it first
I have a brand new edelbrock 600 afb sitting on the shelf I could make you a good deal on.
