I've got a '60 Savoy that came as a /6 with a 3 on the tree. I've also got a 440 with a 727. Wanting to put them together. I'm sure the t-bars will need changed since it'll be a driver. Just wondering who has done this before. Problems I've seen right off are motor and tranny mounts. Would like to put a column shift in so my wife can drive it. Drive shaft & rear are taken care of as well a all wheel disc brakes. Better to fab the mounts or try to find a v-8 front clip? Any other items to consider? Thanks in advance.
Torsion bars are also farther apart than 62 and up b-bodies,exhaust can be trickey but not hard to do,just pay attention.

Man, I LIKE that black one!
Looks like you'll need to run a '66-'69 steering column & linkage if you want it to work with that trans & have a column shift, or a '65 column, cable, rooster comb & valve body.
Looks like that's a big answer. The column actually looks like its part of the box. One steering rebuild company felt I was stuck having to use a stick shift. If it was just me I wouldn't mind, but my wife don't do no clutch. Thanks. Oh, which body style? Maybe a C body the best?

M buddy bought a '60 Savoy that was also a /6 3spd car. He bought it with a 383 4-spd set-up already installed and all of the mounts had been fabbed to work. I'll see if I can get you some close ups.
Mine is Ivory, only difference is the tires, but I like the black one too.

If you can find a 1960 V8 front subframe (Poly or BB)the engine will bolt right in with the BB floating power mounts (Repos from ImperialServices if you can get them). A '63 or '64 Chrysler tranny crossmember will bolt in and work for the 727. Imperial Services also makes a pushbutton conversion for a later 727, however some people have had issues with them.

Easiest way would be to get a subframe from a 63-64 Chrysler( short wheelbase NOT New Yorker) that would solve the engine mounts, give you a sway bar and 11 inch Bendix drums as well as a steering box that works with a seperate column. Also same car would donate an aluminum 727 pushbutton trans with park, the pushbutton shifter with park lever and a wiring harness with a fuse box, better connections etc, plus park brake cables and brackets to fit the rear drums. And the Chrysler windshield fits too if you find a parts car with good glass. etc etc. This way the engine and trans will bolt right in- if you use the pushbutton trans. Nothing quite as fun as pushing the 2nd gear button and getting rubber when it shifts! I am very experienced in 60-64 full size Mopars and drive my 61 every day. Also, a B body rear diff works well and is about 1 inch narrower which allows wide wheels in those low cut Plymouth wheelwells.
