I`m building a 383 stroker for a friend in Ohio and the bad dog I`m working on it with is freshoning up a blown 427 bb chubby in his shop which apparently went high 6`s in the 1/4 mile in a rail and what do I see? Stock main bolts...........no joke and it`s going back together the same way. Just thaught I`d share and there was just a BIT of cap walk. Now I feel totally confident running my 1/2" arp main studs that were in three different motors for over 15 years.

after seeing the way this thread was titled, i was sure you were going to say you finally found a mirror.

so was that a two or 4 bolt block? before companies like ARP came along, all we had was stock bolts. we used to do things back then that we'd never dream of doing now.

I did also pass a mirror and DAMN,I`m a sexy beoch for sure. I realize way back when you had to work w/what you had but 2011? They were four bolt centers and two ft. and rear.

A rat motor bottom end with stock bolts may be sturdier than a big Mopar with the good stuff( Aftermarket cap, studs, girdle). I don't know but it wouldn't surprise me. Pretty beefy and with those short, thick cylinders they are bound to be pretty rigid. I love my big block Mopars, just wish the stock blocks were as stout as the big Chevies.
