Excuse my lack of knowledge but do these carbs need a solinoid? Isn't there one already attached to the starter motor or does this replace it? The reason I'm asking is I have the same carb 4968S and it doesn't have a solinoid. I think someone said they were only needed if you had factory air conditioning.

By 71 most applications had a carb solenoid to help comply with ever increasing emmisions requirements.

The parts book indicates that the 4968S does come with a solenoid, part number is: 3438 303. The book also shows a bracket, etc for the solenoid as being needed.

Are they engine tested after restoration?
Do you do Holley carbs?
Yes, every carb is test run for leaks or build issues and adjusted on a running mule engine before shipping.
Yes, I can restore any 2, 4, or 6 BBL, Holley, Carter AVS, AFB, WCFB, or Thermo-Quad, and any Rochester carburetor.
Any other questions or special requests feel free to inquire.

My current 72 340 Duster has two..........the idle stop solenoid & the fast idle solenoid for the A/C.......of which I am looking for...
The idle stop solenoid for a 72 is harder to find than the 71, i sold one about 6 months ago for $$$$$$$$$. you can bet i'll keep my eyes peeled for another!!
