I'm parting out a 4 door 70 Satellite. A previous owner installed some aftermarket suspension parts, including torsion bars.

The ends are stamped 784L and 785R and one has a "Made in Canada" paper tag still attached. (I'm going by memory, the L-R letters might be reversed)

Does anyone recognize these and can you help me ID the manufacturer and advertised bar diameter?

Thanks in advance

Pretty sure those are Mopar or MP bars. Do they have a green primer paint on them or under some other paint?

Don't know the part number

That old Mopar Action torsion bar artcle might have a T-bar stamping cross reference to it.

I didn't see any paint splotches aside from the black that's already on them.

I'll see if I can find that Mopar Action article you mentioned.

Thanks!

Get a $5 plastic caliper and measure the diameter. See how easy that was? If you want to be real close use a little thinner and steel wool and take the paint off. Just don't put any nicks in the surface.

All steel that I know about has the same modulus of elasticity within a couple of percent, so any steel bar of the same diameter and length will have the same spring rate. That's the beauty of torsion bars, they are so simple.

I'd be interested in knowing the diameter as well for a reference project I'm working on.
