I am looking to replace the original gas tank in my '65 Coronet. Where is the best place to buy one? What brand? I have found Quanta and another brand made in Canada. I can't remember the name.

Also, is there a seal between the filler neck and tank? Replacements available?

Thanks for any info.

I got mine on ebay. The guy said they were made in Canada. It came with a neck grommet has been in for months no problems. There is a pad that goes between the trunk floor and the tank I got that from Quanta.

I forgot about a pad. Thanks.

Summit has a Quanta for $219 and Rock auto has a Spectra for $155. They are both the same part number CR12B. Both have same warranty.

Anyone else?

We got the spectra one at Carlisle last year and fit/finish is good. I believe it came with the grommet. It has been in for about a year with no problems. Just be sure the pickup is positioned near the bottom of the tank. Our's was elevated and would probably suck air when the fuel got low, so it took a little tweaking. You can look in the filler hole when the sender is installed.

The tanks are made by Spectra in Canada and Quanta is a distributor. Same tank, same part number.

I thought they might be the same tanks.

lewtot, I hope to be at the Paddock cruise in. I'll check the price. You going to it? I hope to bring the wife's Dart as well. She just got it a week ago.

Thanks,
