I have gone 10.50 @ 3240 lbs. I have seen a 340 W2 headed Arrow go 9.80 with a 2 bbl carb. Don't know what it weighed. It was a tube chassis car.

I have a 72 dodge dart, going with 4:30 gear 295/55 Drag radials, 727 tranny gonna have My converter guy build me a custom converter, gonna go with Caltracs, I have already did the relocation kit, and gonna Mini it, also plan on putting a CM cage in it, I had Ben over at PROMAX build me a short block, 408 eagle forged crank, H beam rods,Dimond forged pistons,

Looking at a set of W2 econo heads/ SIXPACKGUT on the board is gonna port them

Im looking to run 6.30 6.20 on motor on pump gas

Am I asking to much from the car/combo???

What stroke do you plan on running... without some
fairly large cubes you might be asking a bit much

To run a 6.20 thats a 9.75 pass on the 1/4 so its
gonna take some power to get there in about a 3200# car,
about 650 hp

6.80's not too much trouble, 6.20's, well that's a taller order, so more than 13:1, probably aluminum rods, tunnel ram, girdle on the bottom end etc...

How fast have you guys gone on pump gas??? Remember he said pump gas... Sure a 13:1 4" crank motor can run low 10s or high 9s, but not a pump gas motor in a 70s dart... I've gone 11.24@119.50 best on 89 pump gas in my 3350lb race weight dart' with a 9.75:1 416 and econo W2's

I use E-85 so I guess you call it pump gas... but
the W-2 engine is only 10.5 compression

Mine went 10.80's with 13:1 and a 904...I am switching to 11:1 and a 727 on pump gas, so we will see....Shooting for low 11's
