67 coronet vert.. I have had this car apart for 17 years so I am lost at where some of the small stuff goes..

The screws with the snaps that go through the stainless rear well trim must go into the "retainers" that must? go underneath the sheetmetal? Any pics or help on which way these retainers go? AND does anything else go into these retainers?? I believe the 67-70 verts are the same.. HELP.

If I understand your question right, there are two sets of metal that go along the edge where the top is pinned in place.
There is a skeleton type trim with slot holes in it every so often.
The top is glued and pinned under that. It goes on the outside of the car.

Over that, the chrome trim gets set with the screws with the buttons in them for the top boot to snap onto.

You should have twice or more the number of holes in the sheet metal around the rear of the car as there are holes in the chrome trim.
Figure out which holes go to the chrome trim, and the rest go to the hold down trim.

No, its more like....

Stainless trim goes on the outside ( or the top of the rear well edge) Screw, with the snap buttons go through the holes in the trim then through the body metal ( the holes are there)..

In my "baggy" of parts there are S shaped clips that the snap buttons must screw into underneath the body sheetmetal.. These "clips" must do another function based on there shape.. Curious which direction these clips are attached and if they do have another function as in, attachment of the well liner possibly.. This help?

Got me stumped on that one. Not a 67 b body, but my 65 b and 68 c-body just go straight to sheet metal.
well liner is held in place at the same place the top is.
Are you sure they go to the clip screws?
They sound familar, but sound more like side moulding or something.

I was pretty good at bagging stuff when I disassembled the car ( thank goodness) and these parts are labeled with this trim and snaps.

In checking a little more the well liner does not go to these.. Had a brain cramp and wondering if the front of the stainless well trim clips into these retainers as well as the snap/screws??

I am sure that these retainer/clips go there as the snap/screws ( that go through the stainless trim and the sheetmetal) need something to attach/screw into...

Take some pictures when you get it right? I'll be doing the same to my 66 Coronet vert later this year. I bought the car dissassembled and it sounds like it's not easy to figure the vert trim out.

No, the screws hold the snaps and the stainless trim piece.. I had the retainers pictured to go the other way than toms pic, underneath not on top...
