I have bought a 1970 Plymouth Satellite and according to the previous owner it has a McCandless Performance rebuilt 440 (0.30 over), blueprinted.

I bought the car from a dealer which sold it for the owner. I already asked the dealer for the info of the previous owner to ask him these questions but he didn't answer yet.

I would like to know a little bit more about the engine. It has a CR of 9,5, ported and polished 452's.

I've also tried to contact hensleyperformance.com but my emails get bounced all the time.

Someone here who can help me out???

If it was a custom built engine no one on moparts or Hensley Performance will be able to tell you anything. Engine was probably built in the 80's by Ken Lazzera at Indy cylinder head who was Herb's engine builder for McChandless Performance.
It's just that a custome built motor.

Got a similar 440 in my `71 Bee.
The letter with instructions was signed by Kenny. Should be the same builder logan426 mentioned. He called it Street/Strip engine.
Build in `94, 30over, 9,8:1CR,6-pack pistons with reliefs, worked 452 Heads, Mopar 509, Holley SD etc. Nothing spectacular, but it seems he pretty much knew what he was doing. Was abused a lot and I overreved it a couple of times, when my Splap-Stick skiped D and rushed directly to N, in the heat of the moment . Anyways, still runs strong and seems to be a quality build.

They did a ton of those--most all were Mopar Perf cams usually .509--2.14-1.81 valves in everything--they had a very neat bowl hog that made those heads work extremley well without any additional hand porting--the fully ported 452's they used were works of art done by Mike Duke and if you have those Hang On to Them! The std setup with the bowl cut was a GREAT head--those engines tended to be zero deck style and had thin steel head gaskets and many were more like 10:1 CR so keep the best fuel you can get in there---Kenny was always a big fan of the Holley manifold mentioned -- it is the all time great as many know--those units just go to show that with enough compression for a .509 and some simple head work that a PLAIN 440 is a killer unit. It is one of the best combos still to this day but with the sorry alky gas we are forced to use they are on the hairy edge compression wise for a street unit. You have a great engine!

If Herb did the heads himself there will be H.M.C stamped somewhere in them. My Indy heads are.
