The 440S water pump housings got a really bad rap when some of them had restricted ports that contributed to heating issues.
Do a search for it on Moparts and you will find many separate bash-fests.

So was this told to the 440source?What would be the chance of buying a current new one from them doing this?

I ran the housing and pump for a while. Engine got hotter than it used to if it idled for a while. I swapped the pump for a stock type iron pump and it ran cool again at idle. The pump is an odd design, the blades are cast into it and are very shallow, worked well as long as the car was moving but got hot in traffic. The housing gets slated for being restricted but my car runs cool, even in the summer, so I don't think the housing is the problem.

I run one on my 512RB 4spd 70 Charger RT with the Source WP housing but a stock type WP because the source WP had clearance issues with my billet pulleys. Aftermarket aluminum radiator with no shroud and it never gets over 195 degrees in stop and go traffic and it was 105 degrees yesterday when crusing around town. I will be getting a shroud anyways.
