what about 60ft times
That can vary all over the place... weight, traction, rear suspension, how well its set up, front end set up... along with gear and your launch rpm

Base your gear and tire for the top end RPM... base the 60' more with the conv

Thanks Mike my thinking was 456 gears would turn those 14x32 tires alittle quicker but not buzz the motor too bad btw i have acess to a 8in conv that around 5500rpm.........the rampage is looking good to

Any idea of what the max torque RPM might be... set the conv a couple hundred RPM above that point.... thanks on the Rampage

I have a 1971 Duster with a 518 low deck pump gas stroker with a 4.10 Dana 60, I run a 8 inch T/A race converter in it(not built for this motor or car ) and cross the finish line right at 6500 RPM using a set of 29x12x15 Goodyear slicks(91.5 inch circumferences at 15 lbs pressure) It has ran a best of 1.42 60 ft. times so far and 10.31 ET on the brakes, the best MPH off of the brakes was 129.+ MPH at WOT. I wouldn't hesitate to use a 4.56 in your car, I do use a low gear set, 2.77 to 1 ratio, in my 727 trans so it shifts into 2nd and 3rd gear sooner than it would with the 2.45 stock gear ratio My motor is 10.8 to 1 compresson wuth a custom grind Comp Cams solid roller cam that is 260 @.050 on the intake and 266@ .050 on the exhasut with right at .700 lift at the retainers on boh sides. The motor likes to rev past 7000 real easily, I try to shift it out of 1st gear by 7500 and out of 2nd by 7000 RPM but sometimes I miss the shifts points according to my playback tach and O2 system, it(O2 system) stores RPM as well as AFR for the entire run The motor has a set of M.W. size Indy SR heads with a set of T&D 1.65 ratio rockers and a Indy 400-2 intake with a Holley 850 D.P. carb. The car is heavy intentionally(3450 lbs wet w/ me in it) as I made it for a street car, not a "race" car IHTHs, don't forget about tire growth if your using a bais ply set of slicks. The little motors(stock stroke 440) need more gear multiplication on the starting line as well as the entire way down the track then their bigger stroker motor brothers do
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

Thanks for the replies everyone the debate over at the shop was use the 5:13 that are in the car now but im lookin for a low maint motor to have fun with
The 4.56 gear with the 32" tire is a great combo with a car like yours. IMO, I would definately ditch the 5.13 gear.
Your car is going to be fairly light, you dont need a tractor gear to get it off the line.
I use a 3.91 gear with a 27.3" tire witch is exactly the same overall gear as a 4.56 gear and 32" tire. Its a great gear combo. Ditch the 5.13,s IMO These A bodies, dont need that kind of gear.
73 Sport 440, 509 cam w/Eddys 3.91 and 28.1"/27.3 tire. Et. 60 ft. 1.435, 1/8th. 6.61 @ 101.80 mph. 1/4. 10.472 / 127.78 mph. 2950# race/with me,and pump gas.

I would run the 4.56... doing some calculations you wouldnt even be at 7000...6400 + the conv, so if your conv has 5% slippage thats basically 6750 rpm running low 10s.... JMO but I like to see about 1500 rpm between the conv flash and the gear change and set the conv to flash at about max torque or a couple hundred rpm above max torque
