I am trying to put a 750 vacuum secondary (3310) carb together for my relatively stock (aftermarket intake - - not sure on the cam) 383 67 Coronet. I was going to go with a 650, but can't get the linkage geometry correct.
Questions about the 750:
- I have (2) 3310 carbs - one with metering block and one with a metering plate. Can I swap the block with the plate? I may have drilled out the plate holes when I was young and stupid. The carb with a metering plate is overall in much better shape.
- What size jets do I start with? What would it have come with originally (using the metering block for the secondary).
- Being relatively stock, what size power valve should I start with?
67 Coronet 500 9.610 @ 139.20 mph 67 Coronet 500 (street car) 14.82 @ 94 mph 69 GTX (clone) - build in progress......

(1) yes swap it & get a longer chromed dual feed line or cut your current one & add a piece of neoprene hose (looks unsightly but works) (2) not sure on jet size (3) Start w 1/2 of your manifold vacuum amt at idle in gear (auto) w foot on brake or e brake set (neutral if stick).

When converting from the OEM secondary plate to a metering block, the correct jet size will be 75 or 76. I forgot which one, but Holley has a reference chart showing the corresponding jet size for several of their plates.
If the metering block in one of the 3310's is original, then that is the first model of the 3310 and was rated at 780 (3310 or 3310-1). Original jets would have been 76. After they went to the plate for the secondaries, it was re-rated at 750. Don't know off hand what caused the reduced flow, but it's nothing to worry about.
