Just like it says. A friend wants his 360 to be really quiet but make a little more power, he is set on getting duals while he replaces his rusted out EX but wants it really quiet. Also what is a good size, I am thinking 2.25

The engine is a 5.9 magnum with heads shaved .030 very mildly ported heads, we are gonna throw in a roller cam from a 5.2 mag since we have it sitting around and it is a hair bigger. We are also gonna try one of the new hughes air-gap intakes since the motor is EFI and mabey a set of 1.7 MP roller rockers and some GM v6 behive valve springs. I may try to find a cheap set of the bigger 92 93 ex manifolds while we are at it since he wants it super quiet and cheap.

Dynomax, think its the ultra flow, welded case had a set of 3 inch on a mild 360 truck and were almost too quiet for me.

nope not for someone that wants really quiet. This is what I have, thinking of stepping down to super turbos. Again subjective question though, fyi i run 3" which probably amplifies them.

I'm not trying to be difficult, it comes naturally....

I would not describe it as 'really quiet'
but the 'straight through' design
30 inch long
stainless steel
DynoMax UltraFlo
for RV use
is almost as quiet as factory stock
but has a lower, deeper tone.
Add a second
16 or 24 inch long UltraFlo
as a tip and the system is quieter yet,
but still has a deep tone.

The Walker 'QuietFlow' is as quiet as stock,
but is aluminized steel construction instead of stainless,
and my experience was that after 3 years it began to rattle inside perhaps because a baffle's spot welds came loose.

The above link is 3" exhaust with 14" Dynomax ultraflo muffler. Sounds rather loud to me. check his other videos, he has done alot of research on diffrent mufflers.

Dynomax Hemi superturbo is a good one for quiet performance. Its a bit longer than the regular superturbo, but I think it only comes in 2 1/2". Ultra flo is not what I would call a quiet muffler. Maybe more quiet than some, but for what you are looking for, it will be too loud. Great performing muffler though...

Check AP Exhaust Products. I had their MSL mufflers from 1990 to 2003 on my 68' Coronet with 318. They are regular passenger stock mufflers .Excellant mufflers and lasted me 13 years. They are quiet and have the correct back in the day Mopar muffler sound. I always loved the way they sounded. They sounded excellant and the performance was really good. If you go on the AP Exhaust website they have downloadable catalogs for different year cars. These mufflers will have what your looking for.
When I replaced them in 2003 I should have went with those mufflers but insteadwent with their lifetime muffler and this was done at the same muffler shop.
To get a good idea of how they sounded go on Youtube and type in
"80 Steps to Jonah". It was a movie with Wayne Newton and Sal Mineo. Sal drove a gold color 69' Charger. In the scene you can hear the exhaust. Look for the scene where he picks up the young looking Wayne Newton.

Here is the link.

Dynomax Super Turbo's on my Superbird are as good as I would want, not much difference than the original Street Hemi muffler. On my 62 wagon with full 3" Max Wedge exhaust,it is a different story, much louder than I like. From what I have researched,in 3" at least, the Super Turbo's are still the quietest muffler available and still one of the best flowing.

3" will be a lot louder than a 2.5, or 2.25 for that matter, system.

I opted for corrective surgery instead of hearing aides , should have gotten the hearing aides I guess , but even when I was deaf the DRONE is what drove me crazier .

Got a side picture of your pipes? Im thinking of putting exhaust out behind rear wheels but not out the but; exactly like yours. My charger is different but would show me generally what it would look like.

Chrysler Imperial mufflers (can't remember what year...) were 2.25in inlet and outlet and I used two on a 71 340 Duster. Super quiet.
