I wonder if some of you date code guru's out there can help me date code a pair of very early 1970 production Plymouth Cuda brake calipers.
I have a disc brake set up in my storage locker that i have been cleaning up, Evaporusting, rebuilding, painting, to keep me busy doing things.
Anyway, the calipers have small number stampings in them of:
210 9 2
I can guess the 210, is the day of the year the caliper housing was cast, the 9 would be the year 1969, but what does the "2" stand for.
I have some other 70-72 vintage calipers with a last number of 1, 2, 3, on them.
So out of curiosity i would like to find out what all the numbers mean.
Thank's in advance.
Jim V.

best guess from examples shown:

054 0 2 KH 80012 28
054 0 = assembly date - 054th day of 1970 - Monday, February 23, 1970
2 = 2nd shift
KH = Kelsey Hayes
80012 = casting number
28 = casting date - 28th day of ? - Wednesday, January 28, 1970

049 0 2 KH 80012 353
049 0 = assembly date - 049th day of 1970 - Wednesday, February 18, 1970
2 = 2nd shift
KH = Kelsey Hayes
80012 = casting number
353 = casting date - 353rd day of ? - Friday, December 19, 1969

210 9 2
210 9 = assembly date - 210th day of 1969 - Tuesday, July 29, 1969
2 = 2nd shift

Thank's
Your the only one to reply.
That's what i wanted to know.
The last number on the caliper is the shift that it was manufactured.
Now, why couldn't i think of that?
