Just had the door panels for my '70 Challenger re-dyed and am attempting to install the door sweeps. I suspect that both panels are '71 or later; anyhow, the reproduction sweeps I have will not press on far enough to lock in the groove at the top of the panels. The original, presumably factory sweeps lock right down but are not in usable condition.

Legendary shows two stock numbers, one for 1970 and one for 1971-74. Their tech support dept. is not responding, so I thought I'd raise the question.

Thanks for any help.

The Cat wiskers or window sweeps need to be crimped on, did you know that ? Look at the orig ones. I actually made a tool for this. Do NOT crimp the front side. You can install them then peen them on the back to make them tight. If you have the crappy reproduction ones, there junk and usually the part that sweeps on the window is just rubber instead of felt like Orig. You can get the good ones from first place auto prod.

Thanks very much. I had noticed the crimping from the back side, but didn't realize that it was done at the factory. I have the old ones to go by and will contact first place auto.

Be sure you ask for the ones that snap on your door panel as original. Don't take the ones that pop rivet on, most people hate those.
