Im looking at maybe making a cam change to pick up a little more ET on motor and Im wondering if anyone else has run this cam from Comp. Its a solid roller, part # is 20-721-9. Its 274/281 @ .050 with a .693/.645 lift on a 106 lobe separation. The cam I have now is also a comp with 281/288 @ .050 and .661/.664 lift on a 110 lobe separation. Motor is 410" with Indy 360-1 245 cnc heads and 14 to 1 compression on c16 fuel. Motor was real lazy leaving so I put it in at 105 and it helped but still not leaving really hard (low 1.4 60's) and having to turn motor 7500 rpm's. Im thinking the other cam may give me some more bottom end and still pull good on top and maybe give me a better 60' and some more ET. What do you think? Converter is a 5500 stall with glide and a Dana 60 with 4.10's and a 28x10.5 tire.

I think it's just your Mopar having transmission transplant rejection issues.

You probably need more gear and taller tires with the glide getting it in high gear sooner. Assuming you're not turning 7500 at the stripe.

The new cam would give you more cyl pressure in the
lower rpm but it will also give you a little tighter
torque curve.... the trans is part of the problem
on the 60' but it might make the car more consistent...
Also the fuel your running might be to high of octane
giving you too slow of a burn... I ran 114 and dropped
down to 112 and picked up(with the same compression
but a little wider LSA)installed at 108

Ive actually run better 60's with the glide than I did with 727. Ive got a 1.98 first gear in my glide and it seems to work better on the spray with the glide also. I know everyone's combo is different but mine runs better with the glide. car ran a best of 6.26 @ 109.6 with a 1.39 60' in warm weather in a 3200 lb car. The reason I run C16 is so I dont have to switch fuels when I run spray. Car has been a 5.69 @ 124 on the spray. Im afraid to run anything less than c16 on a 14 to 1 motor on spray. A 28" tall tire is the tallest I can fit on the car. Would the new cam not give me more bottom end while still keeping the power on top?
