there is no real answer to this question.. it more of how much detination can these pistons with stand..or cylinder temps... ive run as much as an .80 no2 jet with kb hypers mostly .63 no2 with a proper tune.. and lately snuck a .73 jet in ( about 50 passes so far) ive been told my et is prolly at the limit.. ? i had some detination lift the top of a piston ive had a poor tune fat with too much timing melt a piston and cyl wall. both with a .63 jet pill. but when its tuned right...it just takes all of this...same motor since 04..(sans the two repairs mention'd) i dont know what hp level these jets are..but .63 it is usually around a second faster... the .80 jet wasnt a full pass but the 60ft was .03 faster than a .63 pass and the 330 was .023 faster before i lifted..(it just felt funny) the .73 jet ET is .2 faster and 3mph faster then the .63 pill..fwiw. all 1/8th mile times cheapst

for reference.. here is an excellent comparison of how much a .63 no2 jet makes.. this is my car in right lane with .63 jet green duster vrs a car in the left lane blue dustert hat runs an identical time as my car when its n/a so figuratively speaking this is my car racing itself side by side with and without nitrous.. (hope this makes sense) so you can see the difference http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1ZoE-WiQhs

Normal ring gap is .004" per inch of bore. I used .010" per inch on mine and never butted a ring. I sprayed 150 for many passes and never broke anything. If your tune-up is right everything will live. If it's wrong, it doesn't matter what kind of pistons you have, you'll kill them.

very wide gap for NOS or you will pull the tops off the pistons, years ago all the chevy guys where doing that and didn't know why, gap has to be around .080 on the top ring, really depends on the piston maker.

I aint tearing it apart so I guess no NOS for me.
Although I have never used nitrous YET myself, I'd run it, just dont get greedy with it....my reasoning why is tons of different cars running around spraying stock bottom end untouched motors with 100-150 shot, cast or forged pistons...they have factory ring gaps in them obviously. If they can do it, why can't you with a motor that should have stronger parts?
Thats just my ...as everyone says just stay safe on the tune and read the plugs and dont go too much, i think it would be fine
I plan on spraying my stock cast piston bottom end 360 with a 150-175 shot eventually...just gotta get the kit on the car and do the fuel system for it

the expansion rate with a Hyper is a LOT more than a cast or forged, thats why a larger gap is NEEDED, not because the alloy is weaker.
The piston transfers the heat into the ring, which , expands it more than other pistons, butting the ring ends together and pulls the top of the piston off. Thats why KB hyers need larger ring gap.
