I need to know what size and length the studs and nuts are for a 71 charger air grabber hood. All my studs on the hood and snapped and i have no nuts. Pictures would be great if anyone has any...

Thanks,

Steve

Al Wilson makes the studs. Can probably pick some up at Cailsle. They are a special really hard to find stud.

If they are the same as 1970 Plymouth. they are a 10-24 machine thread. And are NOT avail.

They look like this only black phosphate.

Those studs do not appear correct to me, maybe we are talking different studs, i am talking about the ones on this part...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/70-Roadru...=item20b14bfa3e

I need the size of those and the nuts that go on it...

Thanks,

Steve

If you are talking about the Bell Nuts Frank Badalson has them......ask him about the studs as well.

Here is the parts book diagram

Bell nuts? I thought they were for the super bee insert? I have never had an air grabber setup so i could be wrong...

What i am trying to find is the STUDS and NUTS that hold the airbox to the hood? I have nothing to verify anything against so any pics or info is helpful!

I'm not sure on the Ramcharger setup. Do the studs thread into metal? The ones that Al has thread into plastic and are used on the Ply A/G, 71/2RR and 71Bee/Charger hood inserts. The corner studs use a bell net.

They are the studs that are welded to the brace on the backside (just like the studs on a rad support that have a circular backing on them).

I've got a Ramcharger hood out in the garage, I'll try to get you some pictures.

Steve, Here's a picture or two of the original style nut (3/8"). It appears that the ones Bill Allphin (GTX6970) has posted are the correct nuts.....

The studs as you said are like the ones on the core support (round head) I think your best bet for those would be to grind the top of a hex head to about half its thickness, put it through the hole and tack weld it on the backside. No one will see that once the hood frame is back in place.
Hope this helps! Your story has been an encouragement to me and helped motivate me to get my car done. my story
