I have been back and forth to Summit the past couple of days. started with a 26". had plenty of room. ended up with a 28x19 triple pass radiator.

I had another 68 several years ago that was just a race car also, I used a 31x19 on it but I had to do alot of cutting from what I remember. I am wanting to street this one.

I have not measured the opening but I am guessing it is 25-26 inches. I know it is bigger then the 22 inch opening my old 69 Satelite had.

I run a 31" x 19" Howe in a 73 Sport A body. I did have to pocket out the passenger side frame rail.

The newer triple pass rads may be a better option as they will cool better by using more of the surface area of the rad. But for street use, bigger is almost always better.

Between the stock rails 29",s is about the limit.

Make sure it does not get to wide and get too close to the battery tray and battery (depending on which side you have the filler neck on) I went back to a 26 x 19 howe rad, if your battery is in the boot then a 28 x 19 should fit easy. If you do some notching of the lip on the frame rails you will get a 31 x 19 but that is in a 72 dart which is 1 inch wider than a 68 yes? so maybe 30 inch wide max, wheres that tape

The 26" Mancini "Muscle Car" downflow aluminum radiator, matching shroud and thermal fan clutch has worked well for me. 496B with AC.

They are 3 times as thick!

No reason for them not to be about the same thickness as normal rads.

If I need to buy again ,it will be a triple pass.
