I can still race in IHRA
That is the right attitude. I am a die-hard IHRA racer. I have always had an IHRA membership, and IHRA class D (9.00) license. No physical, no chassis inspection, less cost!
I am lucky to have a great IHRA track 40 minutes from my house. And a smaller 1/8 mile IHRA track 1:15 away. And then there is Richmond Dragway about 2 hrs. Virginia Motorsports Park is about 3 hrs and they have been IHRA, and went to the dark side, but are back IHRA now.
Tell your local tracks to dump NHRA and join IHRA!

VMP was originally NHRA when built. They have flip floped a couple of times. I enjoyed having a NHRA license becuase the events I race will all honor the license. For example NMCA races Columbus and they would not honor the same IHRA license. Now ADRL has their own tech and licensing. Where does it end. I let my license run out a few years ago. I keep the car's cert up current with NHRA. I have thought about re-upping my license but, I have to first go to a NHRA track, closest is Bristol. Three hour drive to prove I can drive 9.99 or faster safely. Oh Come On. I have never raced an NHRA or IHRA event. ND used to be a plus for the for sale ads but you can browse Racinjunk for free.

I race mainly IHRA tracks but still maintain my NHRA license. Because of NHRA and their renewal policy (renewal every 2 yrs and an EKG for those of us over 55 years of age), my silent heart disease was detected, I was "fixed", and now good to go, 8.90 and slower. The cost of a physical is usually absorbed by your private insurance. if your doc won't sign your papers, as long as your healthy, hes's a dick. We take better care of our cars than we do ourselves. NHRA requirements makes me take care of myself. By the way, I am a doctor.
Would you like to be my cardiologist... I went to 3 and they ask the same question.... what did your last doctor say... hell, one I went to and used him for a while said he didnt even want me to go to Cedar Point and do the rides.... I was so PISSED that I went to another... even my regular doc MD said I was fine
