Tony, IIRC when you got your Challenger going it was lazy off the starting line and then took off downtrack. What was it? Accelerator pump? Squirters????

Thanks!

hey Dennis, it had a bad hesitation because of the huge heads and not enough cubes. I tried everything under the sun all the the way up to the largest squirters I could find. the most aggressive pump cams I could find and it still has a slight hesitation. just not enough air speed to get fuel to the motor off idle. I ended up with blue cams, 50cc pumps, and 32 squirters with an extremely rich idle screw adjustment.

Thanks Tony. I'm having the same problem with my junk, but I am sure it's something I've changed in the carb. I'll have to do some experimenting next time I get it out.

Tony, initial is 15, total is 27 all in by 2500. 600 Holley DP. Converter is a 3500 PTC. 4.56 gears. 232 ci. Car is just lazy first 60 feet or so then comes alive. Short time was off as much as 4 tenths last time out.

I messed around with jetting and PV before I went to Nebraska a couple weeks ago to clean up the idle. May have to go back the other way.

well I don't have any 6cyl experience but 15* initial with a v8 wont work. you need at least 20/22* at idle. sounds like it could be a converter issue also. does it have a hesitation or just lazy?

It is just lazy, and did it with 2 different converters. Slants don't like a whole lot of timing, something about the long arm in them I believe. I'm sure I just took a wrong step when I was "super-tuning" it.
