did you call them? mine has never been bad enough to feel.

Oh, don't worry, you'll have plenty of runout with Wiljunk rotors. Mine were .012 NEW.

yeah that is WAY to much runout my Aerospace new where less than .003

Oh yeah. The "tech" guy told me that they were stored "on end, that's why." He also told me the minimun spec was "as close as you feel comfortable with." There's some brilliance.

they say you can shim between the hat and rotor to correct run out. another thing with the caliper not releasing could be the M/C has internal residual pressure.

Don't quite understand. The runout meaning the disc comes warped new?
and the wobble in the disc returns the piston back off the disc?
Then it will drag all the time i quess?

thats exactly how it works, you apply the brakes they close and the run out pushes them off the rotor. but it should not be as much as Leigh had. you shouldn't be able to feel it. you need to figure out what M/C you have. you could have one with built in residual pressure.

no it doesn't drag all the time.as soon as the wheel starts turning it pushes the pad back.

I have Wilwoods on the front of my 71 Demon. As mentioned, you have to make sure the calipers are centered over the rotor.I spent a lot of time doing this along with adjusting the wheel bearings to make sure everything spun freely. My Wilwoods have worked excellent, and no pulse or anything wrong. They work great.

Well, I have only posted this about 20 times in the last year or so but my wilwoods were dragging bad and I rebuilt the calipers with the ROUND o-rings and they have been drag free ever since.

If I bought a new set of wilwoods the first hing I would do is buy the round Orings and replace the flat ones that are in them.

Quote:

The wilwood pads are very abrasive new,and making a dragging sound till you get them bedded good.

I also switched to the HAWK pads this week and cant belive how much better my car stops with them.

I was using the Wilwood E rated pads before and they were killing my rotors.

Hawk pads stop the car with half the pedal pressure.

Moparacer is right. When I replaced my square o rings it took 160 psi of air to pop the pistons out..replaced with round and only 15 psi. I also put a compression spring between the calipers over the cotter pin to ensure complete retraction. But make sure there is no residual pressure in the system.

hey, i had the same drag on my wilwoods. new pads & pistons. i polished the pistons on a compound wheel till they looked like chrome. pistons had super fine machine lines on them. after the polishing, no drag, all was good. stay safe, seeya, Rick.

Got mine from Wilwood. Told me I was nuts to put a round peg in a square hole.

They might be right, Quad rings, [ the square ones ] I believe the groove has different tolerance than the standard o-ring. The quad ring is made to hold more pressure. Hope your little experiment doesn't cause a accident.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

Allright guys.... When I put it all together , that's when I noticed that it had a drag...
I pumped the brakes a few times and when I went to turn the wheel it had big drag....
Then the next day I check everything again to make sure I installed it corectly...
Everything was installed corect.... So I went and drove it for about a hour ...
Came back raised the car turned the tire and the drag was still there but less...
That whole week I drove it to work and drove it back home....
(didn't check it after that) till yesterday that I posted the problem with the dragging...
BUT, I did go down yesterday to try a few of the thing you guys told me to try but when I rolled the car out the garage, it rolled out easy...
So I raised the car and turned the tire and it rolled like it had very little drag...

I pressed the brake peddle and checked the tire roll and it was much better spinnning....
So, like you guys was saying about seating the pads may have did it...today when I get out of work I will Drive the car again and recheck for the drag and see if it is getting less. Thanks to all that help with my Drag problem.... Will post the outcome tonight on that note.... Thanks again Mopar Doctors ...
