Its called reliable in our world where we make over 500 passes a year....Fortunatly i dont have to make it is fast as it will go...But i do have to make it run the number which i am pretty good at doing...There is alot more to a to our cars that have to be cutting edge than the motor, it just has to be reliable.

That was the 2 nd time i had been to that track this year and the only reason was to see all the nice mopars and try to watch some of the race that these guys worked hard to have.....Sorry it may have dissapointed you.

I'm just dissappointed I drove 10hrs to a goat path, with bad track prep. Oh and I have a VW turbo diesel for reliability no need to buy a dragster.

One day I will have something cool here.

I'm just dissappointed I drove 10hrs to a goat path, with bad track prep......Wow.No dissappointment here...Our car normally runs 5.20's an low 5.30's and with our convt./trans hurt we still ran 5.60's an 5.70's with no burnout...Friday nite went a 5.45 with a 200 shot and thought track was great ,but we can usually hookup in a car wash

Most mopar guys make me wonder why i stay with it. When Chrysler comes out with a car that gets 50 MPG ill get one to drive everyday.

Hey, let's lighten up a bit here, alright? First off, different strokes for different folks. I'm a bracket racer myself, but I LOVE to watch heads-up racing! LaRay (sc301v) said he came out to see the other Mopars as well as race his bracket car. Nothing wrong with that... in fact, I read in another thread where he won Super Pro that night, so congrats to him too!

As for the track prep, you're way off base. There will be cars running in the low 4's there this weekend. Will they have bigger tires? - Yes. Is the track prep terrible? - No. Could it be a little better? - Sure, but few tracks are ever perfect. How many 1/8-mile tracks do you see that make the investment to go full concrete like Ohio Valley Dragway did last year? They did that to keep the fast cars coming in, and it works. I'm sure things could be better for some small tire guys, but part of the mystique and challenge of small tire racing is knowing how to get your car down a less than ideal surface, and that's why I take my hat off to them! There are far worse tracks all over this country, and if your regular track is better, than good for you.

Look, I like Bill May, I loved that old Road Runner he used to run in KOS days, and I would love to have seen a small block kick some big block butt, but when you're late, you're late, and track prep, bracket racers in the stands and everything else isn't going to help you when you dig a hole too deep to get out of.

I started this thread to let the Moparts folks know of the outcome of the race and to congratulate Tony for a well-deserved and hard-fought win, especially after chasing down his shifter woes and being savvy enough to get his radial tire car down a track when he was told it could't be done. Again, Tony, you da man!

And again, thanks to the Robbins and the sponsors and to all of the racers and spectators for a great first event.

-Allan

No biggie Allen G....Were just havin fun with each other...or at least i am...I would be the first to shake is hand at the next race....Plus i will be in the Carolina's this fall at the "House of Hook" so hope to see him there...

Just hate it that he thinks that one of the nicest i/8th mile tracks around in a wide range is a goat path....If he would follow me i can show him some goat paths that a goat wouldn't even use!!! lol

I'm not going to jack this thread more than it has BUT the track was fine. You tune your ride to the track. we race up here on unprepped tracks so tune your car to get down the track don't wait for the track to come to you.

How about A big thanks To Billy for letting us even have this at his facility.

Thanks to Billy Huff indeed, as well as Terry Huff for helping Scott along. To hear him talk, it was a much better and easier deal than Beech Bend.

BTW, Bob, I got an event shirt fom Philip, but I'm kicking myself for not getting a "BigTime" shirt! Totally forgot you had shirts until I saw someone post a pic after the event! Did you have them displayed? If you did, I must have walked past them a dozen times!

We didn't have the girls there so they weren't displayed. I can mail you one, $25.00 shipped to your door.

Cry me a river. I happen to race on tracks all the time 10 fold better than that joint ever thought about being, perks of living in NC. Maybe its just being spoiled? But it was junk. auto pro-mods going low 4's doesn't inpress or convince me the track is any good. I mean come on they go 3.90's here. Like I said earlier you can keep that place.

I swear if that is a nice track for you guys I really feel bad for you. Like i said above I must be spoiled from living in NC. You will only catch me at Carolina if your racing at the auto pro-mod& stock susp races. I doubt that is you scene. I'm not going to the super bracket extravaganza.

Lets get this straight. You did not race and you are calling the track junk.
Tell you what put some big tires on your junk and really see how fast it really is instead of whineing about how the track can't hold a small tire car.Sounds like you have no clue how to set up a small tire car.We have a bunch of guys running small tires on the same tracks I go to and they seem to adjust.I am a bracket racer and go to alot of differant tracks some great some good, never complane.I race the track and I can get down the track no matter what condition it is in and stay within hundreths of my times from any of 4 tracks I go to.
You are saying that these tracks should prep for you small tire guys. Yea thats their big worring that 9 cars with small tires are not able to tune and set up to their track conditions.

If the MODS did their job I would not be hitting the notify MOD button. LOL
