I am getting ready to paint some wheels myself and am getting confused with all of the different styles of argent paint. I seem to see light and dark argent as well as smooth and textured versions. I have been searching older posts and the archives but I can't seem to find what I am looking for.

The wheels that I am painting are on my '70 Dart. They seem to be dark with no texture.

Thanks for any help on clarifying this issue.

Stan

This is the correct silver for wheels...3960 9388 is the correct interior black color for challengers.

interior black color... you mean the black inside the wheels, or the textured stuff on the dash frame?

Thanks
Tav

The black could be used for the rear of the wheels, it's black. But not correct for the back of the wheels I don't think. But it is the correct black for all interior parts that were black including the dash frame. It has no texture and has a very nice satin finish. Hard to describe but is the right stuff for the dash frame. The trim pieces in the interior that has texture, has texture before painting, I believe.

I have some other black paint that has texture which is 9346 I believe. There is another number too that has texture but I can't remember it now as that paint is down at my race shop.

I have since lost it, back back in the summer someone had the color codes of all the interior colors, they indeed have a suede or soft finish. It bothers me that I cant find it anywhere. This was a PPG interior paint code listing off some website I believe. I may post a seperate question on who might have this. It showed the paint codes for the interior trim, dash and other parts that were painted.

Interior black paint for a challenger does not have a texture in the paint, I believe. I've bought about 3 gals of it over the years and used the paint number right out of my factory service manuel. I can still get those numbers in laquer just like original.
