Need to replace the mechanical fuel pump on my 340. Looks fairly simple. Would appreciate any suggestions as to proper procedure. Thanks in advance.

Really makes it easy if you have a pipe flare nut open end wrench. A 9/16 deep socket and extension for a 3/88 drive ratchet. As i am putting th new fuel pump into place I like to bump the engine over ever so slowly to find the low spot on the cam accentric. That way you aren't fighting the tension of the pump while trying to start and tighten the bolts.

You'll need to put RTV sealant on the bolt threads, 1 of them goes through the timing cover and is exposed to oil.
