After last weekends engine trouble on saturday and a runner up in the midseason shoot out on sunday, this weekend was much better. Saturday we got down to 3 cars in Pro (1/8 mile true footbrake) and 4 cars in Sportsman (1/4 mile true footbrake). Sunday we started out with a win in the dash for cash in Sportsman (only time run of the day), and capped off the weekend with a WIN in Pro! WHOO HOO!!!! Bristol is no doubt the toughest place that I have ever tried to win rounds, much less a race, because of all the good racers it attracts and the changing weather conditions makes it hard to dial in at. And now we have a win and a runner up this year in Pro. I struggled with the tree early sunday, but managed to hang on, but my last 3 rounds the lights were .014, .009 and .018. Because of the steller lights, we were able to drive the finnish line, but a quick check of the log book showed dead on passes for the last four rounds if we had run it to the finnish line. And if all that wasn't enough, a Super Pro driver gave me an entry into the World Footbrake Challange next month. Life is good!

Thanks for all the kind words guys. After seeing the comment about the reaction times, I went back and looked at this weekends passes. My worse light sunday was .047, with a .025 average. I NEVER got left on all weekend in either class, except for the 2 red lights (one was -.002). I have tried very hard to do well this year at Bristol, but after a runner up finish in the first race, I went the next 3 races and didn't win a round. Thats just how tough it is at Bristol. I'm trying to claw my way back into the points race, so we'll see. Also as a bonus, 2 Mopars went to the finals of sportsman, With John Nelson besting his brother Jason at the start with .000 light. Saturday in Pro at 6 cars, 4 were Mopars and the finals were 2 Mopars. A good Mopar weekend for sure.
