Since a recent alignment and new tires the car wants to go left, I need to hold the strg wheel to steer to the right to make it go straight down the road. It's like the strg wheel isn't centered. Is there a high spot on rack and pinion?? similar to the old sectors??
Also while driving if I move the strg wheel to it's straight ahead position the car goes quickly to the left.
And I notice that when the engine starts the strg wheel moves slightly to the left. Is rack and pinion similar to our old strg boxes??

The alignment shop has gone over it several times but it isn't correct yet.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you need a new alignment shop.

Those are a pain it align. There is a special tool to keep the tie rod ends straight when you are adjusting and tighteing them down.It clamps over the tr end and keeps them straight. When my kid wrecked his Concord they had one end bound.Had to redo it.That and the ends adjust the wheel to center. Are the tires new? If they are try swapping them side to side and see if the pull follows the tires.Rocky

The tires are new, with the old tires it was the same.

Are your strut bearings seized? They usually are on cars this old.

Too many cars, too many parts, too little coin, too little space to work in, too little time left to make it all happen! Update: down to one ride, still too many parts, a little more jingle in the pocket, gaining space, and it's going to happen this year!

Sounds like they got the toe front to back all out of wack. I had the same problem with my SRT-4 last time it was aligned. Did they give you a print out of the alignment? If so check the front and rear toe and make sure they are in spec. If the back is out it will cause a pull because the car is dog tracking. It will also cause the steering wheel to be off center. Ask me how I know.

Make sure the inner tie rods buchings are okay. Common failure and can really make things dicey in the steering dept. Still sounds like they mucked something up.
