Ok new update. After unhooking everything from the one side of the ammeter. It hasn't fried the fusible link yet. Not convinced it's fixed. But so far so good.
New problem though. Noticed horn wasn't working. When I hit the horn the headlights would go dim. So I replaced the horn relay and when I hit the horn all three wires going to the horn relay fried. As well as melting the fuse box where the relay plugs into. This is so frustrating. I'm to the point of ripping everything apart and replacing the dash harness, ignition switch and turn signal switch.

Hello RapidRobert, I might have to do that. Right now I'm so frustrated it's going to sit for a few weeks. I'm going to need a new dash harness now. Since the horn relay plug in is melted beyond use. Anyway thanks for the offer. I might take you up on it someday.

Note to self: Hello can piss people off. I can understand HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, but not hello. Caps piss everybody off.

Email when the time comes & we'll get connected. Yeah it's good to walk away when you reach that point. I rarely get frustrated these days but some shackle bushings got to me a couple of days ago, came back the next day & all was good & it's not like those bushings are rocket science
