Put the Hemi back in after the rebuild did nothing but move the column downward but disconnected nothing electrical.

I have right side turn signal, lights and brakes. Both front and back on the right side. Left side turn signal is super rapid, doesnt light up green light on instr cluster and does not flash the tail light bulb or the front park lamp bulb. Lights, when on, work in all 4 corner. Flasher makes different noises at right and left positions so I replaced it and it fried a new Buss type but works as I described with the original one in it. What is going on here????

To clarify as in park/tail lights on all 4 corners are good? which are a seperate circuit (small filaments) from the headlight sw. On the prob, sounds like there might b a dead short downstream from the left turn signal "out" circuit plus the large filaments that are supposed to get fire (left rear turn/brake) and (left front turn) are open. I'd go back to the dangling harness under the steering col & start checking for fire/continuity there & work downstream

Maybe a pinched wire when you bolted the column back up. Did you disturb a ground somewhere maybe. Just thinking out loud.

Possibly. But from symptoms described, it sounds like a very small current is getting out (rapid flasher). Either pinched wire or perhaps the pin in the column harness connector is pulled out from the column repositioning.

Put a 12V jumper wire on the light green in the harness side of the turn signal harness connector to verify power is getting to the bulbs of the dash, front, and rear assemblies. That rules out the harnesses, and narrows it down to the column side of the connector or (more likely) the turn signal switch.

Im gonna lower the column today to check for burn or pinches. Thanks Guys

This doesn't change your attack. Just some words at the risk of stating the obvious for this sort of diagnosis:

Keep in mind that the flasher unit in this generation car is nothing more than a very low capacity circuit breaker. When the normal load of the turn signal filaments pass through the bimetallic component of the flasher, it heats up and opens the circuit. Once open, it cools down and closes, completing the circuit again. This dance is finely-tuned to load:

a. Too little load (bad filament/open circuit) and you get no blink.

b. Too much load (dead short/trailer lights/extra teenager lights) and you get an excessively rapid blink.

Good point. A safer way to check for no short to ground is remove the bulbs from the front and rear sockets, remove the dash turn signal socket from the dash frame, THEN test for continuity with volt/ohmmeter between the light green wire pin on the dash side of the turn signal harness and ground. If there is continuity (resistance = 0), there is a short somewhere in the harness between the turn signal harness connector and the ends, where the bulbs are. What to do?

One method may be to disconnect the forward light harness (at the bulkhead connector) to see if the problem goes away. Check turn signals both directions, to see if they flash at the same rate; load will be different without the fronts hooked up.

Then try the rear light harness at the left kick panel connector to see if it goes away. If the rear running lights and brake lights work properly, it's doubtful the rear light harness is shorted.

If the problem is still there, it's likely in the dash harness somewhere.

That's as far as my thinking goes at this point...

Found it. I took down the metal brace for the column and found the bright green wire coming out of the turn signal switch flattened out and a piece of the bare wire was touching the frame. I reinsulated it and replaced the column brace without rushing. All is fine. Thanks again.

Good to hear that things are solved.

And thanks for posting back the results.
There's nothing more annoying than offering suggestions, only to have the thread trail off into the abyss, with no results posted.

Sure makes me less likely to offer anything.
