I have a 69 Dart RB/727. I would like to eliminate/minimize the amount of hose used in the trans cooler plumbing. What is the safest set-up?
Thanks!

I use AN-6 braided line & fittings.

I got two 8-foot lengths of 1/4" Enerpac hydraulic hose off a machine that we built for a customer and they never paid for it. They are very lightweight and good to 10,000 PSI.

Safest? High-pressure, briaded steel covering smooth-bore Teflon hose with fittings swedged on. It's kind of expensive & you'll need to know the lenghts you need but it'll handle pressure your trans will NEVER see. Now if you've got some extreme bends in the lay-out of the lines you'll need to use convoluted tubing under the braided steel. Most any hose company (Parker, Craftco, etc,) can make 'em for you.

I don't see the need for expensive hose in a system that'll never see 100 psi or 250°F. The maligned braid-over-rubber hose is sufficient IMHO. The factory used less.

I used -6 Teflon lined braided hose with a clear jacket molded over the braid. It's good to 1200 PSI and including the fittings I was into both lines and all for about $190 from Summit.

sorta expensive, but I will never have to worry about them.
