That's the way I do it. Sliding the braided part in without ruffling the braid ends takes some practice though.

I was going to do a lot of fittings years ago so i bought the vise jaws that you slide into the vise then they grip the AN part as you screw the other part into it to attach the hose, I bought the AN wrenches then too - if you are only doing one no need though. Pay attention to the drop of oil before threading the part in, and to not tightening one against the other.
