A few years back I pulled and bought 4 833 OD transmissions from Pick n Pull. They came in trucks and vans, slant six and 318s. NO 360s came with this trans. I'm not sure why though.
I have an F body iron case 833 OD in my brother in laws 360 Duster. The trans came from a slant six Volare. We used a 318 bellhousing and a balanced 360 flywheel. All is well!
You could do the same using a truck/van trans since the tailshaft housing is the same overall design as the E body and 71 and later B body design. The clutch fork will need to stay with the truck 318 bell. In some cases, the fork for the trucks are a different length than the cars. I cant remember which was shorter. The reason that I mention it it because it will affect the stiffness of the pedal. A shorter fork requires MORE pedal effort due to it having less leverage. I had to mix and match a few things, but it all works. Good luck and keep us posted!
