Find TDC by taking out number one plug and slowly turning the engine over till you feel compression coming out the hole the very slowly finish bringing so that the timing marks line up at TDC. Install the intermediate shaft so that the slot is parallel with the engine center line. Install the distributor so that the rotor is point to the front of the engine install the cap and put the number one wire where the rotor was pointing and follow the firing order around the cap in counter clock fashion.
If the distributor is in find TDC compression and look where the rotor is pointing and install number 1 in that terminal in the cal and follow the firing order around the cap CC on BB. It make ) difference where the rotor point at TDC as long as you install number one wire in that terminal and follow the firing order around from that point. he engine don't care where you locate number one in the cap as long as the rotor points to that terminal at TDC firing and firing order is followed around. (or slightly advance till final timing.
