i believe we have been required to have ins for some time
the problem has been kids on them flying up down everywhere people
getting hit and hurt on them , it is a liability, bad enough when
you see grown ups drinking and driving them, watched a guy at monster mopar get hit by a sp truck thought it was going to kill him , tore up front of the race truck , not paying attention
everyone sees the issue but will not police it themselfs , so they (nhra/ihra/??tracks) have to do what we dont ,

Yep, right on target. Seen it first hand at Columbus in 09. Pretty much out of control at the big events. Saw one race car get hit. It was like playing dodge ball just trying to get back to your pit area.

And what does charging $10 do to change that....
not a thing.... this is up to the people to correct
and if the people cant do it then the TRACK needs
to come down HARD on the people that SCREW UP...
like telling them DONT COME BACK.... but they dont
want to loose the money either(every car counts)... JMO

You're probably right on the $10 thing. Not sure what the answer is, but it is definitely a problem that needs to be addressed - by the track owners. I know my old home track in Il had a pit speed limit of 10mph, and they inforced it - and brought it up on the PA often during an event. Just seems that there are so many more running around than there ever used to be. It's almost becoming a prerequisite if you have an inclosed trailer.
