That is a "One piece cast unit" Yes it probably is ductile iron, but can never compare to the factory forged units. I agree that the weight savings would be well worth it. But as far as strength, I doubt their is anything worth comparing. For those of you who already have either of these spindles....Run'Em....A properly executed weld joint is as strong as the parent metal.

Mopar Action (Apr '11) did a test on the drop spindles, the MF unit, although cast is very strong. Unable to pass tech & engineering to get vehicle registration (& insurance) with welded spindles here in Australia. probably for a reason.
