Frame bracket-floor tunnel are the only pieces that have to be welded. Original stick cars have a 2 stud brkt spot welded to the cowl for ease of assy when installing the clutch/brake assy. Doesn't have to be welded though. Most 71 and newer B/E cars also have a punched hole in the top of the frame rail that locates the frame brkt.
